BODY KIT FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

SHOPPING FAQs

  1. I'd like to "mix and match" various pieces from different body kits. Can I do this?
Yes. This is common and can easily be handled by one of our SCO Tuner Pros. Give them a call at 888-766-0022 and they'll be happy to create a one-of-a-kind kit for your ride.

  2. I saw a photo of a hot ride in a tuner magazine and I'd like to make my car look like it. Can you help me?
Yeah, baby! This is one of our favorite things to do. We feature a huge variety of body kits, spoilers, hoods, fenders, mirrors, lights, and accessories to turn any ride into a rolling dream. Just contact an SCO Tuner Pro for pricing on a custom bundle.

  3. I'd like to buy just a bumper or a pair of side skirts. Can I do this?
Yes. Many of our body kits are available as individual components. If you don't see the component you want listed on our site, just call our SCO Tuner Pros and ask.

  4. Are body kits available painted?
No. Painting is a delicate process best handled by your body shop. Even if we could paint your body kit beforehand, it may not match your car exactly because of fading and aging of your car's original paint.

  5. Do the kits come with mesh grills as shown in the photographs?
Some do, some don't. In general, AIT and ViS kits include mesh grills; Extreme Dimensions and Razzi kits don't. Kits by Pure may or may not include mesh. Your best bet is to read the description carefully, and if you're not sure, just give our SCO Tuner Pros a call.

  6. I don't see many body kits listed on your site for my vehicle. Do you have anything else for me?
Chances are that we do. We're constantly adding new products every day, so even if you don't see an item on our site, it's still worth calling. Just call our SCO Tuner Pros and ask.

  7. Which material is best for me-polyurethane, fiberglass, or ABS plastic?
Body kits are made from several different materials, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. For complete information about your options, as well as how they rate against one another on several important features, see our Body Kit Buyer's Guide.

  8. How do I know I'm getting my body kit for the best price?
Rest assured that when you buy from MotorWeb, you're getting the very best price available. Everything we sell is covered by 110% price protection, both before and after the sale. If you see the same kit advertised elsewhere for less, we'll beat the competitor's price. We'll even refund 110% of the difference after the sale! Please see the SCO 1-2-3 Guarantee page for details.

  9. What if I don't like my body kit?
Again, the SCO 1-2-3 Guarantee to the rescue! If you don't like your body kit, simply ship it back to us, uninstalled and unmodified, in its original box. We'll take it back with no restock fees. Please see the SCO 1-2-3 Guarantee page for details.

SHIPPING FAQs

  1. How are body kits shipped?
Body kits come in coffin-sized boxes that are way too large for package handling services like UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Instead, they ship via freight line.

  2. How long before I receive my body kit?
Most kits are in stock and arrive at your door in 7 to 10 business days. We'll send you regular updates with an anticipated ship date. Remember, our on-time shipping guarantee includes out-of-stock items, so once we give you a ship date, we're committed to it. If time is an issue and you'd like to be sure that your kit is in stock, feel free to call our SCO Tuner Pros at 888-766-0022.

  3. Can I have my body kit shipped directly to my body shop?
Absolutely! In fact, we highly recommend it. Simply enter your body shop's name and address as the shipping address when you check out.

  4. I'm having my body kit shipped to my residence. Is there anything I should know about receiving a freight shipment?
Plenty! First, you will need to be home to receive and sign for the shipment. The freight company will typically call you 1 to 2 business days beforehand to arrange delivery. Second, when your body kit arrives, be sure to inspect it thoroughly before signing for it. If it has been damaged during shipping, the freight company will take it back without your having to pay for return shipping.

  5. My body kit has some scratches on some of the parts. Is it damaged?
No. Body kits are unfinished items and some minor scuffs and scratches should be expected. Your body shop will smooth them out as part of the preparation process.

INSTALLATION FAQs

  1. Are there any specific instructions I should give to my installer?
A well-qualified body shop should have no problem installing your body kit. You might want to tell them that they should test fit all part before modifying or prepping them, as body kits are not returnable if modified in any way.

  2. Do the body kits come pre-drilled?
No. Body kits are not "bolt-on" items. They're designed to be custom-fit to the vehicle by an installation professional. Your body shop will test fit the body kit on your car and then notch, cut, or drill the kit to make it fit your car properly.

  3. Do the kits come prepped and primed?
No. Body kits are unfinished items and must be sanded and primed before painting. AIT body kits are gel-coated at the factory, so they tend to require less prep work prior to painting than other kits. Carbon fiber kits, of course, are finished items and require no finish at all.

  4. Will my new body kit fit perfectly?
Yes, if you have it installed at a reputable body shop with experience installing aftermarket body kits. Out of the box, a $500 body kit is not going to fit as perfectly as a $2,000 body kit, but a qualified installer will have no problem making it fit and look its absolute best.

  5. Will my installer need to make any modifications to my car in order to make the body kit fit?
This depends on the body kit. Some kits include front and rear lips or bumper add-ons which don't require any modifications other than drilling holes at mounting points. Some kits with full bumpers simply replace your factory bumpers, and some kits require modification or removal of bumper supports. If in doubt, give our SCO Tuner Pros a call and they'll be able to help you with your specific application.
